Obituary: Charles Roach Goodman Mr. Charles Roach Goodman, 79, of 312 Spring Garden Ave., died at his home on Saturday, June 20, 2009.Mr. Goodman was the son of the late John Alvin Goodman and the late Bunnie Rice Goodman.In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Sherrill and Jeanette Morgan and a brother, Frank Goodman. Charles was a faithful member of Enochville Church of God where he was the Sunday School Superintendent and served on the finance committee both for 37 years.He also started the Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting which has been active for the past three years.He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.Charles had been employed with Cannon Mills working in the finishing dept. for 32 years.He had been a member of the U.S. Army serving as a Field Lineman. Survivors include his wife, Colleen Stamey Goodman of the home.A daughter, Diane Goodman Barr and husband, Phil of Kannapolis.Two sons, Charles Leroy Goodman, Sr. and wife, Brenda of Kannapolis and Steve Goodman and wife, Jean of Kannapolis.Six grandchildren, Charles L. Goodman, Jr., Jason Matthew Goodman, Angella Goodman, Stephine Griggs, Tomia Barr and Becky Barr.Also, by six great-grandchildren. The funeral service for Mr. Goodman will be at 2p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 at Enochville Church of God in Kannapolis, conducted by Rev. David Shoemake and Rev. Jeff Upright.Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.The family will receive friends at the church from 12-2:00 p.m. before the service.At other times the family will be at the Spring Garden Ave. home.
