Charles Virgle Jones

Obituary: Charles Virgle Jones, 77, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at CHC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord. Death was unexpected. Charles was born July 2, 1940 in Polk County, Tn. a son of the late Robert Frank Jones, Sr. and the late Alta Rhodes Jones Murph. He was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church. He has previously served as a Deacon. Charles was in the textile industry for 36 years, serving as a supervisor at Plt. #1, Cannon Mills for thirteen years. He later retired as manager of the Drug Emporium. Charles was an avid Ham Radio operator, known as the "Silver Fox". He loved to ride his motorcycle. His family remembers him as a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Roger Steadman. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:30-2:00 P.M. At other times the family will be at the residence. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years; Betty Ann Laws Jones of the home, two sons, Dale Jones (Terri) of Landis and Todd Jones (Tomoyo) of Concord, one daughter, Brandi Acosta (Nelson) of Kannapolis, one brother, Robert Jones (Dianne) of China Grove, and three granddaughters; Holly Jones Teeter (Matt) of Mocksville, Alex Jones and Tara Jones both of Concord.
