Obituary: Charles W. Jordan, 67, of Kannapolis, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed on to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at CMC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord. He was born April 3, 1946 in Chesterfield Co. SC a son of the late Elbert and Estelle Hurst Jordan. Charles retired from Parkdale Mill after 27 years of service. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a US Army Veteran, Sergeant SP4, serving during the Vietnam Era. To know Charles was to love him. He was a kind man with a tender heart and humble spirit. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ann Jordan. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Glenda E. Jordan of the Home, two daughters, Angie (Johnny) Searles and Lori (Terry) Pittman both of Kannapolis, Five grandchildren, Amber Searles, Charles Jordan, Dale Pittman, Ashley Searles and Jacob Searles. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol Quesinberry of Concord and Lynda (Mike) Koontz of Kannapolis, nieces and a nephew also survive. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 13, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. James Pauley. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 P.M. Monday, May 13, prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
