Charles William King

Obituary: Charles William King, 84, of Kannapolis, NC went home to be with Jesus while a resident at Caremoor Retirement Center in Kannapolis on August 7, 2015. Charles was born on Oct. 9, 1930 in Iredell Co., NC, the son of the late Arthur William King and the late Carrie Belle Houie King. He married Jennie Furr on June 24, 1950 and they just had celebrated their 65th year of marriage. They were blessed with four children: Charles William King, Jr. "Sherry", Samuel Furr King "Terri", Robert Franklin King and a daughter, Susan King Price "Robby"; 6 Grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and he is survived by 5 siblings; Barry King, Patty Lineberger, Donald King, Dorothy Hill and Arthur King. The service for Mr. King will take place at 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. R.J. Hammonds. Burial will take place at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cornelius, NC. The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 p.m., before the service at Whitley's. Charles was a dairy farmer. He enjoyed gardening and growing grain for his animals. He enjoyed fast pitch soft ball in his youth and as a young man. He was a STRONG BELIEVER IN JESUS CHRIST AS THE ONLY SAVIOR.
