Charles Rickie Metcalf

Charles Rickie Metcalf, 69, of China Grove, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 after a period of declining health.

Charles was born on February 10, 1954 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Charles Graham Metcalf and Betty Jean Sibbett Metcalf.

Charles honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Charles enjoyed being a Scout Master for Boy Scouts and going camping. He had a special place in his heart for his Doberman, Apollo. Most of all, he dearly loved his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 38 years, Lilia Dumlao Metcalf; two sons, Charles (Melissa) Metcalf and Christopher Metcalf; daughter, Marissa Metcalf; granddaughter, Kaidence, and a sister, Teresa (Doug) Darlene Martin.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury NC 28144 with Rev. Doug Martin officiating. Full military honors will be presented.
