Charles Gordon Miller

Obituary: Charles Gordon Miller, 85, of Augusta, Ga. formerly of Kannapolis died December 28, 2010 at Georgia War Veteran's Nursing Home following a period of declining health. He was born August 28, 1925 in Rowan County, son of the late Herman C. and Kate Seamon Miller. He was a foreman in the machine shop at Cannon Mills with forty years of service prior to his retirement. Charles was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and a member of Cannon Masonic Lodge #626. He served in the US Navy during WW2. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Doris Shinn Miller, who died August 31, 1991. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, David S. and Roy C. Miller. He is survived by two sons: Charles "Chuck" Miller of Norwood and Robert C. Miller of Pensacola, Fla., a daughter Elizabeth Ann Miller of Augusta, Ga. and a grandson, Dr. Drake Miller. Also survived by a Sister: Betty Cloninger of Kannapolis. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Carolina Memorial Park.
