Obituary: Charles Douglas Putnam, of Rockwell, passed away Tuesday evening, March 22, 2016 at the Glenn A.Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. Born September 9, 1942 in Dallas, NC, he was the son of the late Charlie and Wilma Smith Putnam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ray Putnam in 2007. Family members include his sons, Ronnie Putnam of Salisbury and Larry Putnam and wife Kristina, of Rockwell; his sisters Mary and Alice; grandchildren Michael, Andy and Joshua Putnam and his great-granddaughter Emmalynn Putnam. Graveside services to remember and celebrate Charles's life will be held at 12 noon, Monday, March 28th at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
