Charles Alton Sherrill

Obituary: Charles Alton Sherrill, 78, of Kannapolis died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Morningside Assisted Living Center. He was born August 30, 1933 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Carl (C.W.) and Lula Holshouser Sherrill. He retired from Kraft General Foods, Inc. after 20 years of service in 1998. He was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church where he was active with Cub Pack 77 and Boy Scout Troop 77 in his earlier years. He was a veteran of the US Navy Korean War serving from 1950-59. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Richard Rhoades. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Sunday. He is survived by his wife Doris Goble Sherrill, his two sons, David A. Sherrill and Dennis A. Sherrill both of Kannapolis and his daughter, Catina S. Morrow (Jeff) of Concord, three grandchildren: Dwayne, Josh and Allison and one great-granddaughter, Layla.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Whitleys from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Sunday.

Service: Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at Whitleys Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
