Charles Washington Beaver

Obituary: Charles Washington Beaver, Sr., age 90, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the Brian Center, Salisbury, NC. He was born October 2, 1919 in Rowan County, NC, the son of the late Henry Raphael Beaver and Corrie Viola Deal Beaver. He was one of nine children. Charlie was employed as a butcher for over 40 years having worked for the former Colonial Frozen Foods, Alexander's Meats, and Cuthiel's Meats in the area. He was life-long member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC. He enjoyed farming as part of his life and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Walker Beaver. The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. Enoch Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. John Mark Beam. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include two sons, Charles W. Beaver, Jr. & wife, Gail of Mooresville, NC and Steve Beaver & wife, Martha; a daughter, Mary Ann Freeze & husband, Tony of Mooresville, NC; a number of grandchildren; great-granchildren; one brother; and three sisters. The family would like to thank the staff of Brian Center of Salisbury for their love and support during Charlie's illness.
