Charlie William Efird

Obituary: Mr. Charlie William Efird, 85, of Concord died at The Brian Center on Thursday, November 3, 2010. Mr. Efird was born on August 16, 1925, son of the late Israel Franklin Efird and the late Carrie Alice McLester Efird. He was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church and had retired from the former Cannon Mills Co. where he worked as a weaver. Survivors include his 3 sons: Douglas Efird of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Dwight Efird of Asheville, NC and Dennis Efird of Fuquay Varina, NC.Also by a daughter, Dixie L. Efird of Chuckey, TN; 6 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren and a sister, Lillie Mae Asel of Wilmington, NC. The funeral service for Mr. Efird will take place at 2 P.M. Friday, Nov. 5th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Roger Bostic.Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC.The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 before the service at Whitley's Funeral Home. The family would like to express their gratitude to The Brian Center for the love and wonderful care they provided to Mr. Efird and his family while in their care.
