Charlie Howard McClure

Charlie Howard McClure, 91, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Sunday morning, February 2, 2025, at Caremoor Retirement, where he had been a resident.

Born December 28, 1933, in Concord, Charlie was a son of the late Lawson and Lillie Lefler McClure. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Ophelia McClure and Lillie Mae McClure; a daughter, Pam Hicks; son-in-law, Otis Caudle; and numerous siblings, with Charlie being the last surviving sibling of the very large McClure family.

Charlie had honorably served his country with the US Army and retired from Florida Steel and Drum after many years of service. A loving father, grandfather, great and great great grandfather, he loved all of his family. Charlie also loved God, God's word, and enjoyed nature, gardening and golf. Although in a much better place today, he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Family members left with cherished memories include his daughters, Teresa Caudle, Kim Musgrove and her husband Russell, and Susan Penninger; his grandchildren, John, Michelle, Ben, Dylan, Daniel, Madison and Erika; he was also blessed with 14 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park with graveside services being private.
