Obituary: Cheryl Lynn Shaffer Ewing, 59, of Midland, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at CHC-NE after a period of declining health. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Monday, April 23 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. All other services will be private at a later date. Cheryl was born October 26, 1958 in Akron, OH, the daughter of the late Brady Gene Shaffer and Juanita Beaver Shaffer of Midland. In addition to her father, Cheryl was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Shaffer. A longtime area resident, Cheryl worked for many years for Wells Fargo in Charlotte until she retired on disability. She was a loving and caring woman, who gave of herself to those she loved. She will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robin Ewing and her daughter, Elizah Stewart, both of the family home; her daughter, Jennifer Nalbone of Midland and her mother, Juanita Shaffer of Midland and her brother, David McIntyre of Winston-Salem.
