Chloie Bass

Obituary: Chloie Lee Miller Bass, 90, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Genesis Healthcare, following a period of declining health. Chloie was born June 4, 1926 in West Jefferson, N.C., a daughter of the late Dan and Letha Viola Dillard Miller. In 1988, Mrs. Bass retired from Cannon Mills after many years of dedicated service. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Bruce Bass, who passed away in 1992, and a grandson, Robert Scarboro. Family members left with fond and cherished memories include her daughter Sherry Allen and husband, Robert, of Portsmouth, Virginia, and her son Tony Bass of Davidson, NC; her grandchildren Cheryl Echeverri and Tonya Lucas, both of Norfolk, VA, and Kelly Clodfelter of Davidson, NC; her great-grandchildren Gabriel Echeverri, Madison, Luke and Riley Lucas and Fallyn Clodfelter. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm Friday, July 22nd at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Bass will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Adams. Mrs. Bass will be laid to rest beside her husband in Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery, Kannapolis.
