Obituary: Ronald "Ron" Eugene Brammell, 76, of Kannapolis , formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House. He was born June 17, 1935 in Allegheny County, Pa., the son of the late Roy and Mary Catherine Kratovil Brammell. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Lee Brammell. Ron had lived and worked in Pennsylvania for most of his life moving to Kannapolis about seven years ago. He was a machinist having worked in Pennsylvania for Elliott, Westinghouse and Able Tool companies, as well as being self employed for many years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War era. He was a Mason. Ron was a great outdoorsman. He loved nature, hunting, bird watching, as well as woodworking and traveling. He was a member of Unity United Methodist Church where he was involved with the Mobile Meals program for the past six years. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at Unity United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Carl Settle and Rev. John Mark Beam. The family will receive friends an hour prior at the church. He is survived by his wife, Faynell Freeze Brammell, 3 daughters, Beth Ellen Fuller of Coatesville, Pa., Susan Marie Brammell of Falls Church, Va., and Khrista Marie Helfer (Ross) of Cornelius, a son, Derek Andrew Blash of Pitcairn, Pa.,two step-children, Robbie Powell (Mike) of Kannapolis and Keith Frye (Donna) of Stanley, three brothers, Larry "Cork" Brammell (Jane) of Harrison City, Pa., Robert "Bob" Brammell (Joanne) of Level Green, Pa., and Russell Brammell (Betty) of Apollo, Pa., 6 grandchildren: Bryan and Amanda Steczak, Heather Brammell, Benjamin and Lauren Fuller and Sydney Helfer, two great-grandchildren, Aubree and Zoe Steczak, five step-grandchildren: Julie Morgan, Katelan, Lindsay, Morgan and Tiffany Frye, 1 step-greatgrandchild, Parker Whitmire and many nieces and nephews.
