Christine Hudspeth

Obituary: Christine Deese Hudspeth, 91, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Carriage House at Caremoor. Mrs. Hudspeth was born in Union County May 18, 1923 to the late Walter Deese and Lottie Mae Deese. She was married to the late Herman Hudspeth who preceded her. Christine was a lab technician at Cannon Mills were she retired after many years of service. She was a charter member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was very active through the years. She received the 2012 Presbytery of Charlotte the Outstanding Older Adult Award. She was a volunteer for 20 years at the hospital in the area. Survivors include her two nephews, Mark Deese (Lucinda) of Pennsylvania, Michael Deese (Pam) of Virginia; a niece, Melissa Beachy (Shawn) of Ohio; eight great nieces and nephews; special friends, Danita Rickard and Brenda Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Deese. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Second Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Howard Tyas officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
