Christine Neill Knight

Obituary: Mrs. Clara Christine Neill Knight, affectionately known as "Bow" to family and friends, passed away May 6, 2013 in Concord, NC after battling Alzheimer's disease for almost six years. Born at home in Bald Creek, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Gibbs Neill of Bald Creek. Christine graduated from Bald Creek High School and Appalachian State Teachers College. She was a school teacher for over 30 years, and loved working with first and second graders. She retired from Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas W. Knight, Jr., two brothers, Mr. Charles Neill and Mr. Ralph Neill, Jr., and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Helen Neill Prince, and Mrs. Elizabeth Neill Bullock. Survivors include her son, Mr. Thomas W. Knight III and his wife, Cynthia W. Knight of Harrisburg, NC; a grandson, Mr. Thomas W. Knight IV, and a granddaughter, Miss Cornelia E. Knight; a brother, Mr. James Neill, and a sister, Linda Neill. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Bald Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. A.J. Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 300 Shamrock Dr. Charlotte, NC 28215.
