Christine Smith Tucker

Mrs. Christine Mary Smith Tucker, was born June 10, 1937 and went home to be with The Lord Sunday, February 16, 2025, following several weeks of declining health. She is preceded in death by her parents, TB and Dessie Mills Smith; her loving husband, Charles Lewis Tucker, Sr; In-laws Frances & Bud Walls and Joyce & Sid Doby.

Christine was a sweet, kind and compassionate person who loves God, her large family, her church family and her friends. She enjoyed singing, reading, quilting, crocheting, and gardening (especially flowers). Retired, Christine’s previous employment included Terry Products, Kannapolis, and Northeast Medical Center, Concord.

The eldest of 8 children, she is survived by her siblings: Linda (Richard) Lowe, Jeanette Eagle, Kenneth Smith, Kermit Smith and Edsel (Frances) Smith of Kannapolis; Annie Gaye Jordan of Hartsville, SC; Josephine Rollings of Greer, SC; and in-laws, Wallace & Thelma Tucker, of Kannapolis. She is survived by her children: Debbie Tucker and Charles (Kathy) Tucker of Kannapolis, Frankie (Kathy) Tucker of Salisbury; Mary (Matt) Hatley of Norwood and Bonita (Tony) Milholland of Lincolnton; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Christine was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead, NC. Rev. Tony Hancock and Rev. Mary Hatley will officiate. Her love for music is carried on by her children and grandchildren who will share in the service.

Whitley’s Funeral Home of Kannapolis is handling the arrangements. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 21, at 12 PM. Visitation will be held before the service from 10 to 11:45 AM. The visitation and funeral will be held at Whitley’s Funeral Home with burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
