Obituary: Christopher Shaun Elston, 39, of China Grove died at his home Sunday, February 4, 2018. His death was unexpected. Chris was born April 29, 1978 in Louisville, KY., a son to Joseph & Colleen Elston of China Grove. Chris was a generous, loving and kind soul and above all things, loyal to the care of his parents. A graduate of South Rowan High School, Chris enjoyed music, movies and cooking. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Colleen Elston, a sister, Deena Lampton Chavis, husband, Woody Chavis and a nephew, Shane Blalock. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, February 8 officiated by Rev. Joshua Gilliam at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.
