Christopher Shawn Powell

Obituary: Christopher Shawn Powell, age 45, of Kannapolis passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his home. He was born December 6, 1971 in Fort Lee, VA son of Butch Powell and Marsha Ann Frazier Powell of Kannapolis. He was a 1992 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School and worked for Shoe Show Warehouse. He attended Connect Church in Concord. He most enjoyed spending time with his son Caleb, and was an avid Carolina Tarheels and Miami Dolphins fan. He enjoyed golfing and watching college football. Those left to cherish his memories in addition to his parents are his son Caleb Tyler Powell of Concord Caleb's mother Kelly Prince Powell; brothers Chuck Powell (Wendy) of Kannapolis and Ashley Powell (Deidre) of Rockwell; he is also survived by numerous nephews and great nieces and great nephews and best friend Sean Szakal. Visitation 11:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home with service to follow at 12 Noon in Whitley's Chapel conducted by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn.
