Obituary: Christy Rae Poling Dixon, 41, from Kannapolis passed away on May 21, 2017 from irreversible damage to her heart and lungs due to a long battle with pneumonia. Christy was born February 18, 1976 in Youngstown, Ohio, and raised in Newton Falls, Ohio. She graduated from Girard High School in Girard, Ohio. Christy moved to Kannapolis, NC in 1995, where she had three children and three grandchildren. Christy enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing on facebook, working puzzles, camping, hiking and swimming. A service to celebrate Christy's life was held on May 22, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Christy was preceded in death by her father, Dave Poling, grandfather, Robert J. Crew, grandparents, John and Adelia Poling, great-grandparents, Tom and Margaret Ribble, great aunt and uncle, Betty and Bob Schlabaugh and great uncle, Tom Swalenberg. Christy leaves behind her mother and stepdad, Chris and John Hanna of Kannapolis, brother, Jeff Poling (Estella) of Charlotte, sister Karrie Poling (Mike) of Kannapolis, grandmother, Sandy Crew of Austintown, Ohio, son, Patrick Poling of Kannapolis, daughters, Kelsey and Desirae Abbey of Concord, uncle, Jeff Crew (Kathryn Steiner) of Charlotte and his 3 children, aunt, Jean Bieltz (Bill) of Maryland and their 2 children, aunt, Betty Collins (DuWayne) of Waren, Ohio and their children, 3 grandchildren, Jason, Cayden and Addison, 2 nieces , Michelle and Ashley, 2 nephews, Tony and David and other family members.
