Obituary: Cynthia (Cindy) Joyce Savage Jones, 77, of Kannapolis went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her family on Friday, August 17, 2018. Cindy was born on Nov. 5, 1940 in Cabarrus Co., daughter of the late Clyde Donald Savage and the late Mary Elizabeth Cannon Savage. Cindy had worked for Peter Pan Day Care for many years then chose to stay home to raise her three grandchildren, Josh, Zack and Mitchell who were no doubt, the light of her life. She then went to work at Woodrow Wilson being a teacher's assistant. After that she found her joy in crocheting baby blankets anytime she found a new baby was on the way. She also loved to bake cakes, and was proud when her cakes were able to raise money for mission trips at the church. Cindy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with a true love of taking care of her family. She dearly loved attending every event her daughter's and grandchildren participated in at school showing her love for them. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, William "Howard" Jones of the home, two daughters; Cheryl Dearmon (Eric) of Kannapolis and Gidget Jones of Salisbury. Also by her three grandsons; Josh Deaton, Zack Deaton and Mitchell Harkey. The service for Mrs. Jones will take place at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 21st at Central Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dean Hunter and Rev. Curtis Parker. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 before the service. Burial will take at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carolina Memorial Park.
