Obituary: Farmer, Clara Lee PerdueChina Grove, NC- Clara Lee Perdue Farmer, age 79, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at her home, 155 Sandalwood Lane.She was born May 16, 1932 in Mercer County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Zollie Perdue and Lucy Hager Perdue. Clara was a homemaker all of her life. She and her husband lived in Bluefield, W. VA. until moving to Kannapolis, NC in 1964. She was a member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC. She was fondly thought of as "MaMaw" by her granddaughter who she loved very much. She was also an accomplished seamstress and cook.In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Albert Frank Farmer, Jr. (Butch); four brothers, Vernon Perdue, Robert Perdue, Ray Perdue, and Albert Perdue; and two sisters, Veta Lockhart and Virginia Lockhart.A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Neal Brower. Survivors include her husband of 62 ½ years, Albert Frank Farmer; one daughter, Pamela F. Farmer & husband, Jim, of Rock Hill, SC; one granddaughter, Courtney L. Garner of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Zollie Perdue, Jr. of Roanoke, VA and Philip Perdue of Bluefield, W. VA; and numerous nieces & nephews including a nephew, Richard Keith Perdue, who was raised as a child, who now lives in Spencer, NC.Memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 310, White Plains, N.Y. 10605 or CMC-NorthEast Foundation, 920 N.
