Obituary: Cleo Ketner Glenn, 90, of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Five Oaks Manor. She was born August 24, 1923 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Charles A. Ketner and Mary Lee Troutman Ketner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel "Jack" Glenn in 2011 and two brothers, Clyde and Roy Ketner. Cleo was a graduate of JW Cannon High School and the Cabarrus School of Nursing. She served as staff nurse and Head nurse on the Intensive Care Unit at the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. She was also the clinical supervisor at the hospital before her retirement in 1977. She also had worked for Dr. Paul Maulden and Dr. Frank Thompson. She was a charter member of Second Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the Carolina Cardinals Camping Club. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, Oct. 21st, at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior at Whitley's Annex Chapel. She is survived by two sons, Keith Glenn (Patricia) and Doug Glenn (Ginger) all of Kannapolis, four grandchildren: Andrew Glenn, Brandon Glenn (Shannon), Lindsay Glenn and Amanda Glenn, great granddaughter, Riley Glenn and soon-to-be great grandson in February, Brody. She is also survived by sisters, Ruth Caldwell of Kannapolis, Myrtle Waddell of Sanford, Mildred Karriker (Grady) of Greenville and Daisy Williams of Kannapolis and her brother, Lloyd Ketner (Betty) of Kannapolis.
