Clifford Douglas Clark

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- C. Douglas Clark, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a lengthy illness. He was born August 16, 1927 in Catawba County, NC, the son of the late Charlie Columbus Clark and Lucille Williams Clark. Throughout the years Doug was employed with Dolly Madison Furniture Company, later Alco Manufacturing in sheet metal, and still later, textiles. Doug also served a period of time in the U.S. Air Force. He is fondly remembered for his love of gardening sharing his vegetables with family and friends. Also, Doug was proud of being an active member of Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Michael; two sisters and two brothers. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 16, 2013 at Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Marty Payton and Rev. Ron Bushey. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Monday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara Overcash Clark; a daughter, Barbara Gail Asey; and two brothers, John Clark and Donald Ray Clark.
