Obituary: William Clifford "Cliff" Cook, 64, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. Cliff was born October 5, 1951 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Chester Clifford Cook and the late Patricia Louise Triece Cook. Cliff was a 1967 graduate of A.L. Brown High School. He was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church and was employed at Joe Ervin Grading Company where he operated heavy equipment prior to his disability. Cliff was an avid softball player. He played for numerous teams over the years; including Bethpage United Methodist Church, Gary's BBQ, and Linn-Corriher. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 26, 2016 at Bethpage United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Mark Portis and Rev. Duane Melton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. Friday at the church prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sheila VanPelt Cook of the home, two sons, Chad Cook and wife Kelly and Jason Cook and wife Emily all of Kannapolis, four grandchildren; Chandler and Kayleigh Cook, and Tabetha and Brandon Reynolds, three great grandchildren; Kaydin Bayne and Aubrey and Avery Reynolds. Also surviving is one sister, Penny Godbey and husband Jimmy of Woodleaf.
