Obituary: Clifford Leslie Davis, 85, of China Grove passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Five Oaks Manor. He was born January 3, 1930 in Madison County, Georgia, the son of the late William Daniel Davis and Sallie Mae Sorrow Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Holshouser Davis on September 29, 1990. He was retired from Cannon Mills # 6 Weave room. He was a member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a veteran of the US Marines Corps. He enjoyed tinkering and repairing old lawn mowers. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jimmy Barnhill. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at Whitley's. He is survived by son, Michael Davis (Linda Sue) of Concord, daughter, Linda D. Price (Clay) of Winston-Salem, grandson, Jonathan C. Price, and brothers, Frenchie Davis (Frances) of Kannapolis and Joe Davis (Mary) of Salisbury.
