Clyde Marvin Hamm, 94, of Concord, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021.
Clyde was born on August 30, 1926 in Cleveland County, NC to the late John Marvin Hamm and Pearl Mae Hull Hamm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Evelyn, Aurella, Margaret, and Lucille, and three brothers, John, Isaac, and Doug.
Clyde honorably served his country in the United States Navy and was a WWII Veteran. He retired after 35 years working in production for Kraft Foods. He also volunteered at Atrium Health Cabarrus for 15 years alongside his wife. He was a faithful member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 74 years, Barbara K. Hamm; son, Mike (Sheila) Hamm; daughter, Vickie Frasure; grandchildren, Christopher (Sandy) Hamm and Cisily Respass; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hamm, Charlie Hamm, and McKayla Goebel; sisters, Nellie Love, Betty Gadd, and Mickey Wright, and brother, Tony Hamm; and the brothers and sisters of his wife and their families.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Whitley’s Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Parker officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park with full military honors.
