Clyde Samuel Ross, Sr.

Obituary: Clyde Samuel Ross, Sr. 70 of Concord passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at CMC-NorthEast following a period of declining health. Mr. Ross was born in Rowan County on October 1, 1943, a son of the late Kimzy and Julia Sanderland Ross. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 4 brothers and sisters. Mr. Ross was formerly employed by Cannon Mills as a pipe fitter. He enjoyed playing the guitar and gospel music. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Ross will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Spry officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the services on Sunday at Whitley's from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. He is survived by his wife; Kathy Thomas Ross of the home, sons; Clyde Samuel Ross Jr. (Audrey), Eric Rodgers (Whitney), Edward Rodgers, Steven Ross (Teresa) all of Concord, and Gregory Ross of Spruce Pines, a daughter; Angela Singleton (Ralph) of Concord, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a brother; Donald Ross of Kannapolis, and sisters; Barbara Grimes of Kannapolis, Sylvia Casaday of Gray GA., and Tilda Gainey of Salisbury.
