Concetta Detorie Burnham

Obituary: Concord, NC- Concetta Detorie Burnham, age 81, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. She was born April 28, 1929 in Baltimore County, MD, the daughter of the late John Joseph Detorie and Martha Hubbs Detorie. Concetta worked for Time Warner Cable, Kannapolis, until her retirement. She was an active resident of Crescent Heights Independent Retirement Living, Branchview Drive NE, Concord, where she participated in senior citizen activities including bingo. She had lived in the Concord, NC area since 1982. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Peter Detorie; and one sister, Jane Detorie Beam. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Burial will be at St. Abraham's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hampstead, MD. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Friday, February 4, 2011 and again from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. that evening. Survivors include her children, John Beckner of Baltimore, MD, Concetta Lord & husband, Jack of Marshfield, MA, Bill Beckner & wife, Sandy of Laurel, MD, and Patricia Shelton & husband, James of Concord, NC; Her grandchildren, John Beckner, Angela Martin, Concetta Beckner, Christina Beckner, Christina Lord, Philip Lord, Michael Beckner, and Jennifer Beckner; And her great-grandchildren, Sophia and Elaina Beckner, and Toni Ann and Eddie Martin; Two brothers, Jimmy Detorie and Michael Detorie, both of Baltimore, MD; And three sisters, Gertrude Ford, Bernadine McAllister, and Christine Younger, all of Baltimore, MD.
