Obituary: Cora Bell Woodard Grass, 92 of Kannapolis passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center. Her death follows a period of declining health. Mrs. Grass was born on May 2, 1920 in Chesterfield County, SC., a daughter of the late Joseph Hubert and Mary Elizabeth Steen Woodard. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. William Van Wieren III officiating. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family. Mrs. Grass was formerly employed at Cannon Mills in the cloth dept. Mrs. Grass is survived by two sons; Kenneth J. Woodard and wife Nancy and Phil Ashworth both of Kannapolis, a daughter; Carol Holcomb and husband Larry of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, a brother; Eugene Woodard and wife Lona Ma of Chesterfield, SC, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
