Obituary: Cora Lee Nanney Huffman, age 79, of Salisbury died at her home on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 after a period of declining health. Her graveside service will be held at West Lawn Mausoleum Chapel in China Grove at 3:00 PM Friday, January 31 with Rev. Ronald Tucker officiating. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis on Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, prior to the graveside. At other times the families will be at their own homes. Cora Lee was born March 26, 1934 in Iredell Co., a daughter of the late Thomas R. and Pauline Dingler Nanney. She was a lifelong area resident and worked for many years at Corriher Mill as a spinner until retiring in 1997. Cora was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Huffman, her son, Steven Mark Huffman, her grandson, Phillip Alan Huffman and 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Gloria Kay Gainey (Paul) of Kannapolis, Pamela J. Milstead, Susan A. Huffman and her 2 sons, Thomas G. Huffman and Jeffery L. Huffman, all of Salisbury. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters Helen Ritchie of Kannapolis, Linda Bumgarner of Mooresville and Phyllis Hardwick of Statesville and many nieces and nephews.
