Curtis Lee Browning, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior September 18, 2021 from the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church on Saturday, October 2 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11.
He was born on November 5, 1937 in Kannapolis, NC to Curtis Lee Browning, Sr. and Dorcus Hartis Browning. In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his wife Gwendyl "Marlene" Linker Browning, his granddaughter Lauren Sechler and his step-granddaughter Kendra Wilson Jones.
Curtis was a lifelong area resident and longtime member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. He was a Graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a proud veteran of the US Air Force. In early years Curtis worked for Cannon Mills as a machinist then for many years at Reynolds Aluminum as a line technician until retirement. He enjoyed golf, traveling with his wife and the beach.
Curtis is survived by son, Todd Browning (Tracey) of Concord; daughter, Lori Wilson (Dennis) of Salisbury, four grandchildren; Jared, Luke and Javan Browning and Stephanie Lyman (Brenden), step-grandson Brent Wilson, and 5 great-grandchildren; Brionna, Aubrey, Ryder, Cadence and Veah.
Memorials may be made to the Tucker Hospice House.
