Daisy Bowers

Obituary: Daisy Lou Gault Bowers, 88, of China Grove went to be with her savior on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Universal Health Care in Concord after a period of declining health. Her funeral will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris O'Guin officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service. Daisy was born September 25, 1925 in Rowan Co., the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Mary Maeola Ramseur Gault. She was a life-long area resident and member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Daisy worked for Cannon Mills in earlier years and then for Grants and Belks Dept. Stores, as a sales clerk. In her later years she enjoyed going to auctions with her husband and running a continuous yard sale out of her home. Daisy was active in the Republican Party and local politics. In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, William Alexander "Red" Bowers, her brothers, Charles, James and Hugh Lee Gault and an infant son, Charles Boyd Bowers. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Ausmann (Boyd), her son, James A. Bowers both of Concord, her brothers, Boyd Gault of Darien GA and Harold Gault of Colorado Springs CO. Her 3 grandchildren include; Danny and Paul Ausmann of Concord and Jenny Judy of Summerville, SC, 5 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and other loving relatives.
