Daisy Blackburn Hinson Duckett

Obituary: Daisy Blackburn Hinson, age 90, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center, Kannapolis, NC after a short illness. She was born June 2, 1922 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late John Allen Blackburn and Edith Lipe Blackburn. Daisy was a graduate of Asheville High School, Asheville, NC. She was an active member of her church when living in Asheville, NC. She was also active there in the Womens Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and other community organizations over the years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, John Alver Hinson; and a son, Keith Byron Hinson. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors include her son, Steve Hinson & Wife, Tama ra of Kannapolis, NC of Kannapolis, NC; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Robinson and Shirley Mossberg, both of Asheville, NC; and one brother, John Richard Blackburn of Kannapolis, NC.
