Daisy Loretta (Lunsford) Fortson

Daisy L. Fortson, affectionately known as "MooMoo," passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Atrium Health Cabarrus. She was 76 years old.
Born on August 30, 1947, in Cabarrus County to the late Marcus Woodrow Lunsford and Jane Susan Faw Lunsford, Daisy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Daisy dedicated over 25 years of her life to Cannon Mills before retiring from Medical Modalities in Concord. She was an active member of the Featherweight Ladies Sewing Club in Rockwell, and a cherished member of Crosspointe Baptist Church, where she served her church family in numerous capacities. Daisy found joy in assisting with and organizing The Fine Arts Camp, participating in the Senior Saints Group, and engaging in various church activities. She loved sewing and making special gifts for her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57½ years, Henry Fortson; two daughters, Lynn Reynolds (Eric) and Trilla Dee Fortson; four grandchildren, Dustin Reynolds (Jesse), Austin Reynolds, Hanna Hudson, and Haven Hudson; two great-grandsons, Wyatt and Huck Reynolds.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home.
A funeral service to honor Daisy's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Crosspointe Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Leon Hawks, musician Amy Herbert, vocalists Pastor Timothy Walters and Jamie Allen. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
