Dale Martin Miller

Obituary: Dale Martin Miller, age 79, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after a period of declining health. He was born June 28, 1932 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late William Oliver Miller and Mary Mabry Miller. Dale was a 1950 graduate of Concord High School and a graduate of Kings College, Charlotte, NC. In earlier years he was employed with Charlotte Aircraft, Charlotte, NC. Later, with various dealerships including Town & Country Ford, Cardell Carter Pontiac Buick, Sparks Oldsmobile, and Widenhouse Motors. In later years he worked as an insurance agent with Liberty Life Insurance and was part-time with Nationwide Insurance. Dale was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC where he taught Sunday School, Methodist Men, & other phases of church activities. Outside of work and church, he volunteered at CMC-NorthEast and Meals on Wheels. He loved the Lord and all his family. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Phyllis T. Miller; 2nd wife, Jane D. Miller; and four sisters, Mary Frances Russell, Ella Brown Whitley, Maxine Bonnevie, and Cybil Widenhouse. The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr. Harold Bales and Rev. Edward Scott. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include three sons, Ronald Miller and Jan Labbee of Missouri, Tony Miller and fiancé, Annette Coley of Charlotte, NC, Scott Miller and wife, Davina of Concord, NC; one daughter, Ellen Miller Payne & husband, David of Kannapolis, NC; seven grandchildren, Candice Miller, Ashley DePascale, Nikki Miller, Samantha Miller, Seth Kee, David Bryant Payne& wife, Whitney, and Kristin Payne; seven great-grandchildren; four step children; nine step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Billie Means and husband, Tommy of Concord, NC; a brother, Vance Miller and wife Anne of Raleigh, NC.
