Daniel “Danny” Thomas Mastrogianni

Daniel “Danny” Thomas Mastrogianni, 76, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Danny was born on December 10, 1948 in New York. He was a cherished son of the late Louis Mastrogianni and Gloria Anselmo Mastrogianni. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Roger Tarnowski.

Danny was born and raised in the Italian section of the Bronx. He was passionate about jazz music and enjoyed sharing his love for the genre with others. He also had a keen interest in the stock market and would dabble with investments. Danny was a proud Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Danny carried on the family tradition of military service, following in the footsteps of his father, a Navy veteran of World War II, and Danny’s son, who also served in the Navy. His legacy of service, love, and passion for music and life will live on in all who knew him. He was a union carpenter in New York City and a man of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a long time member of Crossway Community Church. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Annette Caputo Mastrogianni; son, Jesse Mastrogianni; daughter, Denise Iannuzzi; grandson, Joseph Florio; sisters, Donna Yetman (Frank), Helen Merle (Vinny), and Mary Tarnowski. Danny was also blessed with many loving nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and his entire New York family.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM, Carolina Memorial Park of Concord-Kannapolis, 601 Mt. Olivet Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083. A memorial service will be held on February 9 at Crossway Community Church, 6400 Prosperity Road, Charlotte, NC 28269 at a time still to be determined.
