Obituary: Daniel Philip Dayvault, 64, of China Grove passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. He was born March 25, 1950 in Mooresville, the son of K.M. (Babe) and Bet Dayvault of Kannapolis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Irene Dayvault and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Farabee, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. David H. Dayvault. "Dandy" Dan was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School 1968, Chowan College, Murfreesboro, NC 1970 and Memphis State University, Memphis, TN 1972. He was employed with the Town of Landis until his health declined. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2014 at New Hope Lutheran Church, Kannapolis officiated by Rev. Roger W. Storms and Rev. Jeff Lindsay. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday evening at Whitley's Funeral Home and also from 1:00 to 1:45 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service. Private inurnment will be at Carolina Memorial Park. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kathy Overcash Dayvault, children, Max Dayvault (Amanda) of Landis and Lauren Dayvault Hubbard (Mitchell) of Kannapolis, grandchildren, Caroline Ann Dayvault and Landon Mitchell Hubbard, and his sister, Ann Dayvault Carter of Wilmington.
