Obituary: China Grove, NC- Daniel Braxton Long, age 26, 544 Kimball Road, died Friday, March 20, 2009 on arrival at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, NC from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born April 23, 1982 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Charles Ray Long and Sylvia Ann Fisher Long. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4 years having served one year in Iraq.He was president & CEO of his business, Wealth Providers Group, Inc., which is located in Los Angeles, CA and was also a member & associate of the Wealth Prophet's Society in Hawaii and California.He was a 2002 graduate of South Rowan High School and was a member of Genesis Baptist Church where he was a member of the 4given Souls Gospel Band. He is preceded in death by an infant son in 2006 and his materal grandmother, Margaret Rogers. The funeral will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Gene Edwards.Burial will follow at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC with military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the funeral home.The family will be at the home of Tim & Beth Stilwell, 2085 Stirewalt Road, China Grove, NC the remainder of the time. Survivors include his wife, Ashley Stilwell Long whom he married September 6, 2005; one son, Braxton Long (age two), of the home; one brother, Brandon Long & wife, Megan of Kannapolis, NC; one sister, Amy Long Jackson & husband, Cliff of Rockwell, NC; and dear friends, Mario Bustamante and Josh Sain. One nephew, Mason Long; two nieces, Hailey & Hannah Jackson; father & mother-in-law, Tim & Beth Stilwell of China Grove, NC; a sister-in-law, Hannah & husband, Jody Hilton of China Grove, NC; Maternal grandparents, Raymond Rogers of Kannapolis, NC; paternal grandparents, Leon Long of Rockwell, NC and Rosie Burris of Kannapolis, NC; and many close friends, aunts, and uncles. Memorials may be made in the name of Ashley S. Long for a future trust fund to be established for his son, Braxton, in the future at 544 Kimball Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
