Daniel Stillwell

Obituary: Daniel Arthur Stillwell, 78, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Five Oaks Manor. He had been in declining health but death was unexpected. Daniel was born July 29, 1936 in Mecklenburg County, NC a son of the late John Henry and Bessie Lee Davis Stillwell. He retired from Cannon Mills after many years of service. He had served as Scoutmaster of several different Troops, was a member of the Regional Scout Commission and Order of the Arrow. Daniel was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Landis. He was an avid fisherman and loved to drive. He enjoyed driving in drag races for many years. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence of a son, Walter Stillwell of Kannapolis. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Curtis Davis. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Esther C. Stillwell, two sons, Bryan Stillwell and Walter Stillwell (Cindy) all of Kannapolis, one daughter, Pamela Artz (Steven) of Mooresville, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
