Danny D Corriher

Obituary: China Grove-Danny D. Corriher, 66, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 24, 2016. Born April 30, 1950 in Iredell County, Danny was a son of Frank A. Corriher and the late Carolyn Compton Corriher. A 1968 graduate of South Rowan High, he started working full time in 1970 with Frank A. Corriher and Sons Well Drilling, later becoming co-owner. He was a lifelong member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Corriher was affectionately known by many as "Coach Danny", having coached Little League Baseball and Gray Y football and basketball. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, Mr. Corriher will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. In addition to his father, family members left with cherished memories include his wife of 46 years Susan D. Corriher; his sons Doug Corriher and wife Katerina, and Brian Corriher; his grandchildren Gracie, Dalton and Kolton Corriher; his siblings Joel Corriher and wife Crystal, Terry Cress and Ricky Corriher. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, September 27th at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Corriher will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 28th, at Franklin Heights Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Joe Smith. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Memorials may be made in Mr. Corriher's name to Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
