Darlene Howell Gantt

Obituary: Darlene Howell Gantt, 67, of Kannapolis passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born April 16, 1947 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Fredrick Tugman Howell and Ruby Styles Howell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Daniels. Darlene had worked for Holland Staffing Agency. Darlene also was Assistant Manager at Hardee's Jackson Park for many years. Darlene had been involved with Nascar's WAM, Women's Auxillary of Motorsports Charity for many years where she was past President and Board member. She loved shopping, going to the mountains and beach, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jackie Pegram and Rev. Mitch Thomas. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Whitley's. She is survived by her husband, Michael Wayne Gantt, two children, Tosha George (Greg) and Todd Gantt (Kimberly), two grandsons, Michael and Coty, two great grandsons, Hudson and Wyatt, step-sister, Cathy Honeycutt, two half-sisters, Jackie Atwell and Lori Deaton and half-brother, Scott Howell.
