Obituary: David Ray Blake, age 69, of Kannapolis, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 11, 2017, surrounded by his family. David's health had been declining for several years and he passed away at Carolina's Healthcare Northeast. He was born October 6, 1947, to the late Ules and Marie Blake of Cabarrus County. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by one brother, Ricky Blake. David leaves behind a precious wife, Judy Blake of 49 years, three daughters, Brandy, Tiffany Morris and husband, Todd; Stacie Milam and husband, Jason, four grandchildren, Brittany Carr and husband, Dustin, Matthew Morris, Christian Setzer, and Serentiy Milam, one great- grandchild Jaxson Carr and another grandchild, Everlee, on the way. He also leaves behind six brothers; Gary, Tony, Ronnie, Mike, Bill, and Roger and one sister, Treena Corbitt. David proudly served in the US Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He retired with Parkdale Mill. He loved the Lord and adored his family. He was a great and loving husband, dad, and pawpaw and he will greatly be missed. The family will receive family and friends from 12:30-2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 16th at Whitley's Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00P.M. at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Preachers Terry Deitz and Dustin Carr both of Temple Baptist Church of Kannapolis where David was a member.
