David William Grapes, Sr.

Obituary: David William Grapes Sr., 48, of Concord died Thursday Nov. 19, 2009 at his home. He was born Dec. 3, 1960 in Baltimore, Md. , the son of Isaac William Grapes of Salisbury and the late Sophie Alexander Grapes. He was also preceded in death by two sons, David W. Grapes Jr. and Derrick Grapes and his brother Ralph Grapes. He was a member of Crossview Baptist Church in Concord. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Brandon King. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife Cheryl Adams Grapes, step-son Billy Ray Dease Jr. of Concord and step-daughter Sonya Lynn Perez of Concord, and three brothers: Eugene, Robert Neil and Tracy Grapes all of Salisbury.
