Obituary: David Wayne Hurst, age 48, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. He was born July 19, 1960 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Betty McLain Hurst and the late Calvin Ben Hurst.He was a 1978 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Kannapolis, NC. He was employed at B & B Furniture, Kannapolis, NC for many years.He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. R.J. Hammond and Rev. Ron Bushey.Burial will be at a later date.The family will receive friends after the service. Survivors include his two sons, Jeff Hurst and Timothy Hurst of the home; his mother, Betty McLain Hurst of Kannapolis, NC; his sister, Vickey Jorgensen of Mt. Pleasant, NC; two brothers, Thomas Hurst of Kannapolis, NC and Vernon Hurst of Locust Grove, VA. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Charity Baptist Church, 2420 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
