David Lee Hyatt

David Lee Hyatt, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

David was born on July 18, 1945 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late David Hyatt and Margaret Tadlock Hyatt.

David was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord. He dearly loved his family and held them close to his heart. Before retirement, David worked as a supervisor at Cooper Kenworth Body Shop. He loved Hot Rods, riding motorcycles, and watching motocross. He also enjoyed watching Western and cowboy movies.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 60 years, Elaine Hyatt; daughter, Cathy (David Lee) Hyatt; son, Michael (Amy Menius) Hyatt; six grandchildren, Jamie (Amber) Talbert, Brianna (Nick) Broome, Brittian Hyatt, Makayla (Ryan) Hill, Bailey Hyatt, and Braxton (Kayla) Hyatt; 12 great-grandchildren, Tre, Camden, Ayden, Adryanna, Anderson, Austin, Ryker, Tate, Landon, Dalis, Noah and Slayter; and two brothers, Frank (Cathy) Hyatt and Donnie (Elise) Hyatt.

Services will remain private at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
