On Saturday, August 10, 2019, David Garrett Long, loving father of two children, passed away
peacefully at home at the age of 59.
David was born on January 20, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio to Richard and Margaret Long. He served
in the US Army for 15 years and was a Disabled Veteran of the Gulf War. He raised two
daughter, Bess-Margaret and Sarah.
David's passion was to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, as a collector. He also loved the
outdoors and was an avid fisherman. David’s legacy is that he never met a stranger and had no
enemies. Everyone he met was his friend and he would drop everything to help his friends.
David is survived by his two children, Bess-Margaret and Sarah, his parents Richard and
Margaret, his two brothers Michael (Deb) and James (Rita), Natalie Roseman, Lacey Andrews
(Nieces), Brian Long (Nephew) and several out of state aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 19 at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
