Obituary: To God be the glory, David Phillip Pyka, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, 71, of Kannapolis, passed away December 30, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House. He was born December 10, 1945 in Oak Park Il to the late Sylvester and Rose Pyka. Graduated High School in Florida, and he was a veteran of the Vietnam War. David worked for Bellsouth, AT&T, TelLabs for over 35 years. He loved Jeopardy, computers and working with electronics. He was preceded in death by his son David Paul Pyka and brother Sy Pyka. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years Marie Pyka , daughters Marcie Concepcion (David), Tracey Brown, Laurie Pyka Ferrell, son John Pyka (Marci) and 12 grandchildren. A Celebration of His Life will be held at his home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday (Jan. 4) at the Salisbury National Cemetery, with Military Honors.
