David Neal Russ

Obituary: Mr. David Neal Russ, 78, of 1019 Central Dr., Concord, NC died at his home on Friday, August 13, 2010. Neal was born on August 19, 1931 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Jacob Bruce Russ and the late Lela Harrington Russ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Russ is preceded in death by 2 brothers; J.B. Russ and Ira Russ as well as 4 sisters; Phyllis Russ, Marilyn Mullis, Jewel Coley, and Doris Porter. Mr. Russ was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. He was a residential carpenter by trade, loved fishing and he dearly loved his family. He was a diehard fan of the T.V. show, Walker, Texas Ranger. Survivors include his loving wife, Sarah Overcash Russ; 2 sons, David Ray Russ & wife, Pam of Salisbury, NC and Kenneth Russ & wife, Debi of Kannapolis; 2 daughters, Penny Adcock & husband, David of Kannapolis and Lorie Bare and Todd Barnett of Mooresville, NC. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Neal is also survived by a sister, Juanita Hartsell of Concord. The funeral service will take place at 11 A.M. Monday, Aug. 16th at Eastwood Baptist Church in Kannapolis conducted by his grandson, Dr. Daniel R. Russ and by Rev. Randall Ritchie, Rev. Pat Garrett and Dr. Zachary Sizemore. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Sunday night from 7-9:00 P.M. At other times the family will be at the Central Dr. home.

Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday August 16, 2010 Eastwood Baptist Church Kannapolis, North Carolina
