David Scott Rutland

David Scott “Dave” Rutland, 79, of Concord passed away January 29, 2023. He was born November 18, 1943 in Fairfax, South Carolina, a son of the late Henry and Louise Ward Rutland.

Dave was a graduate of Clemson University.  After graduation he began his lifelong career in the textile industry. Dave’s first position in textile management began with Fieldcrest Mills in Fieldale, Virginia and continued with several locations throughout the southeast during his lifetime. Dave was an avid golfer. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes a private service for family will be held.,

Dave is predeceased by his son William O’Neal Rutland. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Sue Redding Rutland, daughter, Betsy (Kirk) Tisdale, Granddaughter Elizabeth, his bothers Henry (Burley) Rutland, Richard (Harriett) Rutland, Joseph (Judy) Rutland, Malcolm Rutland and sister Ethel Ann (Steve) Chryst.
